The Truth About Doctor Numbers in CQ
The Australian Medical Association of Queensland

reports that Doctor numbers have declined in Central

Queensland Hospital and Health Service. (CQHHS)
Numbers have gone down from 376 to 333 in three years.
They report that this ‘concerning trend’ accords with the experience of Doctors on the ground.’
They say doctors are reporting reduced health service capabilities, inequities for regional patients accessing elective surgery, excessive work hours fatigue and burnout. Clinicians in other health services are worried for their colleagues in our Central Queensland health service.
AMA wrote directly to the Minister Shannon Fentiman and to the Director General of Queensland Health on 5 March.

Urgent action is needed in Central Queensland!
The decline in doctor numbers is alarming, affecting health services and regional patient care.
